Spotted: An array of pink and green streamers and decorations transforming the Roto into a promotional marketing day for Delta Zeta's philanthropy, The Painted Turtle Camp. It was nearly impossible to walk through the Roto without wondering what exactly all this hype was for. Wouldn't you like to know?
The Painted Turtle Camp is an authentic camp experience that allows terminally and chronically ill children to attend camp free of charge. Delta Zeta holds an annual "Turtle Tug," to help support this cause. At this event, teams of 5 engage in a tug-of-war competition over a tarp of green jell-o. The winning team will receive a $100 American Express gift card.
On Friday, Delta Zeta used the Roto to encourage teams to sign up for this event which will be held on April 28, at 3:00 p.m. on the Bryant Center Lawn. The cost is a mere $25 per team, and both food and chances for raffles will be provided.
To encourage teams to sign up, Delta Zeta took to additional marketing techniques besides the decorations in the Roto. Delta Zeta had an arts and crafts table, handed out cups of jell-o, and allowed students to decorate "tortoise-shell cookies."
If interested in signing up a team, join the Delta Zeta Facebook group to receive more information, or contact Delta Zeta President, Claire Divver at cdivver@bryant.edu.
Until next post,
Xoxo Roto Girl KF
